Approved Qualifications & Experience
The Association allows those who have gained certain qualifications plus at least two years’ verifiable experience within an accountancy role to join the Association.
Typically, we require all approved qualifications to be at least Level 5 qualifications. All approved qualifications must sufficiently cover relevant accountancy topics to be accepted as approved qualifications.
If you hold a qualification and would like us to consider it as an approved qualification for the purposes of your application, please contact us.
All UK undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in accountancy are considered approved qualifications.
Common qualifications which we accept as approved qualification include the ACCA qualification, the ACA qualification and AAT Level 4 qualification.
If you do not hold any accountancy qualifications, but are looking to enter public practice as a CPAA member, you could look to undertake a CPAA qualification. The Association's qualifications are a flexible and affordable route to gaining an accountancy qualification, specifically focused upon the needs of small UK accountancy practitioners.
